Blue Light therapy is a skin treatment using high intensity blue light to treat mild to moderate acne. The blue light kills the P. Acne bacteria on the skin which forms within the sebaceous glands causing break outs. Blue Light therapy has proven to be safe and effective for mild to moderate cystic acne and does not have the side effects associated with some of the usual medication therapies for acne. Sessions are repeated once or twice weekly for several weeks until optimal results are seen. Initially recommended to have 8 consecutive treatments. Optimal results are seen from 4-12 weeks after the completion of the series. We recommend a follow-up 2-3 months afterward to assess your results.
